TitanLNG has developed a solution to supply LNG across water, making ship-to-ship bunkering a reality. The LNG bunker pontoon – known as FlexFueler 001 – will deliver the fuel to the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region. Kooiman Marine Group is leading the consortium to build the FlexFueler 001, commissioned by TitanLNG.
The group is using Siemens NX Ship Design software in its engineering work. Given VIRO’s broad experience with the software, its availability of shipbuilding engineers, and its location, it comes as no surprise that it has been chosen as Kooiman’s engineering partner. Working in close partnership with Kooiman, VIRO has been hard at work on the FlexFueler project with the class drawings, detailed engineering, production information, and cutting files.
VIRO is an international engineering firm that seeks to take the pressure off industrial organisations and help them improve their performance, by combining our capability and flexibility with expertise and innovation. VIRO draws on a wide range of expertise that can be applied in a host of different markets.
VIRO is relatively new to the shipbuilding industry, but it has since developed solid experience in yacht and naval construction, as well as inland navigation. Moreover, VIRO has been concentrating on using Siemens NX Ship Design 3D CAD software. On top of shipbuilding and engineering equipment separately, VIRO focuses on integrating the two of these with each other.
Construction of the FlexFueler 001 has since commenced and is making good headway. It is expected to be completed in 2018!
