As an experienced Civil Engineering Structural Engineer, you will have ultimate responsibility for the structural designs and rationale assigned to you. You will independently design and calculate steel, concrete, and wood structures and prepare specifications. You will check the work of structural engineers and junior structural engineers within the department and impart technical expertise. You will also ensure that you keep your professional knowledge up to date, including on legislation, standards, and regulations. On projects, you will work with an enthusiastic team of draughtsmen/modellers and structural engineers from your department, as well as with colleagues based in other departments and/or offices. Your activities may take place on and off the premises. As an experienced structural engineer, you will have the opportunity to grow to become the lead structural engineer in the Civil Engineering department.
The Civil Engineering department works on a wide variety of civil engineering and structural projects, mostly in industry, non-residential, and apartment construction. The majority of our clients are major players in industry, offshore, chemicals, sustainable energy, and amusement attractions.
