Successful rekinding of a passion for Mechanical Engineering

I’m Lisa Grijpink, and I’ve been working at VIRO since 2023. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Venlo, I started working as an R&D engineer six years ago. After moving to the west of the Netherlands, I worked for four years as an engineer, specialising in climate cells and horticultural installations. Then I decided I wanted to return to the challenge of a job in Mechanical Engineering, which is how I ended up at VIRO. I currently work in the Mechanical Engineering department of VIRO's Schiedam branch.

VIRO is open and transparent: you’re not alone

My first project at VIRO is a real Mechanical Engineering project. In December, I started a project for a customer specializing in deboning and processing systems for white and dark meat. The project is for an enclosure for one of these machines, where the main challenges are the limited timeframe and the rapid integration of the customer's working methods. The advantage of working at VIRO is that it’s an unusually open and transparent company, where you get support from various angles. As a result, you’re not alone and there’s always someone who can help you. After my previous jobs, I’m really happy to be working in Mechanical Engineering again, where I can deepen my knowledge and advance my career.

Sharpen skills and acquire new knowledge

I’m really enthusiastic about the possibilities offered to me by VIRO. The Mechanical Engineering sector is an exciting field, in which I can sharpen my skills and gain new knowledge. At VIRO, I can gain expertise in a wide range of fields. I hope, and expect, to learn a lot in the coming years!
